Episode #1: Finding Home

Grady: Do we really have to move here? California is where all the wildfires are located do you want to burn down? All I know is I don’t!

Virginia: Grady this is for your brother Jonah. NASA is a BIG accomplishment so no complaining!

Grady: (grunts) can I at least pick my room first?

Lucas: Hey that’s not fair!

Dale: Rude!

Virginia: Mark, a little help please.

Mark: Oh, yeah, right, kids Grady gets to pick her room because for the past 8 years she has never gotten many “rewards” for the hard work she has put into school and helping the family. This is our reward to her.

Virginia: Exactly.

(Marcy rolls her eyes)

Vivi: Can I pick second?

Macy: Mommy, can I pick after Vivi please?

Virginia: We’ll have to see girls, now act nicely because we’re entering town.

(Silence comes across the car, Dale punches Lucas in the arm and they start silently fighting, Virginia gives them “the look”

They drive up to a giant mansion and Grady rolls her eyes at Vivi’s amazement. Marcy stays stuck in her phone trying to text her friends something.)

Virginia: Now grab your bags from out of the car, we will give you a little bit to look around, then first Vivi -I mean Grady will pick out her room.

(The kids run into the house and Grady immediately runs to the top of the stairs. Into a small room, almost like an attic room. There was a small platform that had stairs along the side to walk up. There was a low ceiling and a small area of floor, perfect for a desk. There was a small walking closet and a bathroom on one side. It was perfect for Grady)

Grady: I call this one!

Vivi: Awwwww, I wanted that one!! Mom can I have it?

Grady: Mom, no! It’s my turn to pick first!!

Virginia: Vivi, Grady is right, it is her turn!! But don’t worry, you can have any other room!!

Vivi: No fair, no fair, no fair, no fair!!!

(Vivi walks down the stairs, her complaints get quieter and quieter the further she walks away from Grady)

Grady: Kids!

(Grady groans and rolls her eyes)

Macy: Hi Grady!

Grady: Hi Mace, what room did you pick?

Macy: I’m still waiting for Vivi! She keeps complaining about all of the rooms! She even thinks the master bedroom isn’t good enough!

Grady: She can pick the master bedroom? I thought Mom and Dad automatically got it!

Macy: They do! Mom is just trying to make her happy! Vivi is obviously her favorite!

Jonah: Whose favorite is Vivi?

Both Girls: JONAH!!!!!!

(The girls jump on him, embracing them in their arms for a hug.)

Jonah: Hey guys, how as your car ride?

Grady: No, not at all!!!!!!

Jonah: What happened?

Grady: I didn’t want to move here and was just expressing my feelings. Mom, of course has to be her typical self and tell me to “be proud of you and suck it up.” That’s pretty much what she said. Than I asked to pick my room first but Vivi got mad. Mom and Dad let me pick first and of course Vivi wanted the room I picked. She didn’t even want it in the first place. She just wanted to take it from me so I would get mad and in trouble for raging at her. She is now being her diva self and poo-poo-ing all of the rooms. Mom even offered her the master bedroom because she was so annoyed with Vivi!

Jonah: I am very confused but I am not going to ask you to repeat it!

Macy: I’m going to go see if I can pick my room now! Want to come with me?

Grady: I kind of want to rile Vivi up... so sure!

(The two sisters walk downstairs with Jonah trailing behind them)

Macy: Yesssssss!!

Grady: What!!

Macy: Vivi FINALLY picked her room!!!!

Jonah: Which room do you want?
